The options available in most vehicles are nothing exceptional, although we do appreciate them. However, some manufacturers are more creative in their approach, leading to some unusual features.

For instance, Land Rover offers a set specifically designed for canine transportation. There are also small champagne refrigerators in large luxury cars. In my career, I’ve even had the opportunity to test a minivan with a built-in vacuum cleaner. However, Lexus has decided to take the concept even further with a custom option straight out of the famous show (Pimp My Ride). Indeed, the Japanese manufacturer offers a pizza oven. Well, that’s partly true since this option was added to a Lexus GX prepared by a company called Monogram. This is an industrial design studio that chose to partner with the brand to create something unique.

A High-End Result

Monogram didn’t just put a fireplace in the trunk of this Lexus GX. The company created and designed a custom box to integrate the oven and added a premium finish. The rear doors were specially modified to accommodate all the equipment needed to prepare your pizza, including a large wooden spatula.

If you’ve never heard of Monogram, it’s quite normal since the company offers luxury equipment at a high price. A single microwave oven can cost several thousand dollars, not to mention the refrigerators the brand produces.

This unique Lexus GX was created specifically for the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, USA.

The Lexus GX

The Lexus GX is based on the same platform as the Toyota Land Cruiser, making it an ideal luxury vehicle for adventure. It can tow up to 8,000 pounds thanks to its twin-turbo V6 that develops 349 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. However, the Japanese manufacturer's SUV is far from affordable, with a starting price of $86,475.

One thing is certain, the Lexus GX Monogram has particularly attracted attention. Certainly, it’s not likely that we’ll see a production vehicle offering a pizza oven as an option anytime soon, but the result is nonetheless interesting and amusing.
